CONGRATULATIONS!!!
The film
“Lost Theatre” (by Daria Violina, directed by Sergey Pavlovsky, produced by Larisa Schneiderman) received
The Best Documentary Film Award at the International Film Festival in Stockholm!
«For experienced documentary filmmakers Daria Violina and Sergey Pavlovsky, this is not the first film dedicated to the times of Stalin’s terror. Their joint filmography includes the epic film “We Will Live,” which is dedicated to the prisoners of the infamous «АЛЖИР» (Akmola camp for the wives of traitors to the motherland), the documentary saga “Longer Than Life” about children whose parents were executed and repressed, and the tragic story “One Life” about the Nevelskoye ghetto.
It is striking how often the word “life” is used in the titles of these films. However, the focus is more on death. “Lost Theatre” is also about this. It’s no coincidence that the most powerful footage was shot at the Butovo training ground near Moscow,” said S. Nikolaevich.
